Remember the past
plan for the future
but always live for today!
Have you ever wondered what the laziest day of the year is? Ya I know, I need to get a life, right. But if you think about it, New Years Day is about driving home or just vegging out! I mean, you have the day after Christmas or Hanukkah, but you still have kids home and company can still be there, plus the holiday mess you have to clean up. Oh and there’s the take backs and post-holiday shopping too (with money and gift cards you got as gifts). Even if your done with all that, you can’t relax yet, you have one more holiday ahead, New Years. All the other holidays throughout the year aren’t competition either.
See, New Years hits after a string of exhausting holidays, the kids have been out of school for weeks, there’s nothing on TV! Plus, what other holiday starts off in the evening with the climax in the middle of the night (no that’s not what I mean, get your mind out of the gutter, Geesh)! With a possible ‘Harry met Sally kiss at midnight, coupled with fireworks, you’ve gotta stay up for that! Oh and not to mention the partying, dancing and drinking small to mass quantities of liquor all night!
So you see why New Year’s Day takes it as the big veg day. I’m exhausted just thinking about it, I need to get back to my couch, Hey, where’s my Snuggie!
