Let us venture through the trees
heading out to hill and glen.
To feel the warming sun and breeze
on our skin and through our hair.
There we could go exploring
or merely run and play.
Until we both get winded
then head back to the forest again.
There we might just settle in
where we’ll rest on grass and leaves.
That’s if the ants and crawly things
will give us, a reprieve.
Perhaps they could go visiting
until we go away,
I don’t mean leaving permanently,
just maybe for today. Hansi Riley
